Teacher’s Notes for Benjamin Franklin by d’Aulaire is an easily accomplished, open-and-go guide to aid the teacher through a form 1 history lesson.
The lessons in the Teacher’s Notes contain the Talk A Little introductory section with the following Narrate prompt. The page numbers as well as the start and end words in the text for each reading are given. The length of the reading reflects Charlotte Mason’s advice for short lessons which is vital at this early age as attention is being trained and the student is learning to narrate. Any words that need explanation are given in the Introductory section. Maps are given their place as needed and pictures relating to the reading are also found in  these Notes. Time Keeping for early elementary is also part of these Notes. The student will also begin a natural yet authentic study of one of America’s most important documents as well as some of the most important locations to American history.
The textual-picture book is not part of these lessons, although there might be a used copy over in the Book Rescue Book Store.
