Charlotte Mason Morning Conversations

Charlotte Mason Morning Conversations is being held again this year at the lovely Glacier Creek Prairie. We’ll meet in the pristine white barn loft for food and conversations and refresh ourselves on a nature walk in the preserve’s native prairie.

Enjoy breakfast and lunch with other home town Charlotte Mason educators. In between, we’ll talk CM. This event is for mothers (and new little ones) and educators. Conversations include First Reading Lessons, Learning Foreign Languages, Family Favorite Living Books, Nature Walk, and English Paper Piecing, and a book sale table.

To aid us in gathering materials and preparing food, please RSVP to Lisa Osika by July 10th  lisagardener@abbnebraska.com.  If you have dietary restrictions, include that in your RSVP- we’ll do our best to accommodate. Payment can be made at the door.

Sandy has been taking nature walks and keeping journals with her children for many years. Come along for a nature walk through the beautiful grass prairie. Bring your nature journal.

Sandy’s family also has a love of good books. She’ll tell us about some of their family favorites.

Amanda is bringing French into her family’s feast. She will show us what she has discovered about Charlotte Mason’s approach to foreign languages.

Lucy is a fabric lover and a quilter. She will share her passion with us by leading us through an English Paper Piece project.

Lisa has taught her children to read using Charlotte Mason’s reading lessons. She will bring her CM lessons for a show and tell.

Laurie is bringing some books along for you to browse and purchase. Bring your cash!

Book look-

If you have a particular Charlotte Mason resource or book you would like to preview, contact Lisa. Over the years,  she has collected a fairly large selection of many of the most popular CM books. If there is a book you are curious about, let her know. If she has it, she’ll bring it along for you to see.

For the nature walk consider bringing: Comfortable shoes, a nature journal -this can be any kind of journal- lines, no lines, big, small, any kind/weight of paper, and some type of writing/drawing ‘utensil’. Maybe bug spray , sunscreen. We will be outside for about 30 minutes.
