Does God approve of you when your house is decluttered and free of a scattered mess of toys?
Does God approve of you when you are teaching Sunday School?
Does God approve of you when your kids are dressed properly for church?
Does God approve of you when you get make-up on when you go out?
Does God approve of you when your kids are doing foreign language?
Does God approve of you when you pull off daily nature walks?
Does God approve of you when your children are narrating each day?
Does God approve of you when you are doing Latin?
Does God approve of you when you help at the church picnic?
Does God approve of you when you organize a coop group?
Does God approve of you when your child has a sweet attitude at church?
Does God approve of you when you have a garden filled with abundance?
Does God approve of you when your children come with joy to their books and lessons?
Does God approve of you when you have a marriage full of togetherness?

Surely He does.
or
is God approving of you, or are YOU approving of you?

And, do you really approve of you?
If you add another thing, one more project, one more friend, one more activity, then will that do it?– then,… will you approve of you?
Does what you DO determine your value?
Does what you DO determine God’s value of you?

If you don’t have a project going, are you worthless?
If you aren’t in the middle of the action, are you purposeless?
If you can’t keep up, are you a failure?
If your relationships are in shambles, are you a failure?

Does God love you when you are hurt and bleeding?
Does God love you when you scream at others in your pain?
Does God love you when you can’t cope and are a fried mess of nerves?
Does God love you when you have no faith to see any possible way?
Does God love you when you struggle to forgive?
Does God love you when you crave revenge?
Does God love you when you hate?

Does He?
or,
Does he hurt when you hurt?
Is he betrayed when you are betrayed?
Is he beaten with words when you are beaten with words?
Does He cry when you cry?
Does He hear your whimper for ‘help’ knowing that’s all you can muster?
Is He there, head bowed, next to you?
Does He listen to your cursing Him?
Does He know the pain and give you time?
Is He with you in the Valley of the Shadows?
Does He see your sleepless nights?
Is He laying next to you in your empty, dark bed?
Is He with you as you watch the shattered pieces fall crumbling to the ground?

Yes. This is when He approves of you.

Father, I pray for Your Love to be made known to me. Thank you that you love me in my utter failing life mess. I ask for You to take the pressure I put on myself to do, do, do to be, be, be and strip it away. Then I will see the way of rest You have for me. Help me to stop my working so I can understand your without- a- bottom- Love for me. Let me put my striving away to fall into that abyss of a freefall into your Love. Give me eyes to see Your unconditional Love for me. Unconditional in every circumstance in which I find myself – when I am overwhelmed, overrun, overworked. Thank you for revealing what is truly important. Give me a soft heart to receive Your Love and to pass it on to others. Help me in my pain. Help me know your love. Now more than ever I need to understand it. I need to feel it. I need to know You are there. Help my unbelief. Forgive my doubting. Take away the lies of the enemy. They have no power over me as Your daughter.
